I took her pillows of the bead, smelled like lemon drops
Instead of making love I was collecting all her stuff
It looks like breakfast by myself, a seat for one and maybe
Small talk with a stranger oh the stories I can tell, but I’m holdin’ out
I spent the last hour wondering why
You never called, and she never cried
And I’m hoping that you had nothing to do with breaking my heart
You borrowed all my favorite clothes, you liked that button-down the most
You were a brother where a brother shouldn’t go
I know I’m not the perfect friend, but I always let you in
So don’t ask why and don’t come smiling back again, ‘cause I’m caving in
I spent the last hour wondering why
You never called, and she never cried
And I’m hoping that you had nothing to do with breaking my heart
My lights won’t shine, my car won’t drive, she’s moving on
I’m torn in two, is she with you, where have you gone
I took her pillows of the bed, smelled like lemon drops
Instead of buying flowers seems I’m writing off a friend, and I’m caving in
I spent the last hour wondering why
You never called, and she never cried
And I’m hoping that you had nothing to do with breaking my heart
I spent the last hour wondering why
You never called, and she never cried
And I’m hoping that you had nothing to do with breaking my heart
